Defensive Handgun Training focuses on building safe, practical skills that translate to real-world defensive situations. Through hands-on instruction and structured live-fire exercises, participants develop efficiency, accuracy under pressure, and sound decision-making—empowering responsible, capable, and confident handgun ownership.
This is a four-hour course with class size limited to five participants to ensure personalized instruction and meaningful coaching. A minimum of two registered participants is required for the class to be held. Cost of course $100.
Prerequisites
This course is intended for individuals with handgun knowledge and intermediate-level shooting experience, defined as the ability to:
• Safely handle and operate a firearm
• Understand the basic functions and operation of their handgun
• Know and apply fundamental aiming procedures
Required Equipment
Participants must provide:
• Their own handgun
• A safe, rigid holster that provides complete firearm stability and fully covers the trigger guard
• Three magazines
• Approximately 200 rounds of ammunition
• Eye and ear protection
Participants should also bring snacks and water and dress appropriately for the weather, as this training takes place at an outdoor range. There will be no rain cancellation. Extreme weather may require rescheduling of course which is to be determined solely by the instructor.
By registering for this course, participants acknowledge that firearms training involves inherent risks and agree to follow all safety rules, instructor commands, and range regulations at all times. Participants confirm they meet all course prerequisites, are legally permitted to possess and use a firearm, and accept full responsibility for their equipment and actions during training. American Patriot Tactical reserves the right to remove any participant who fails to follow safety protocols, without refund, in the interest of safety.
